StageAim — Tutorial
StageAim scores a USPSA stage from your hits and time, shows what a faster or cleaner run would have been worth, and keeps every stage you save. Four tabs: Calculator, Forecast, History, Settings.
1. Score a stage
- Open Calculator. Set the power factor with the toggle at the top — Minor or Major. The default comes from Settings.
- Tap + and − on each zone to enter your hits: A, C, D, M (miss), NS (no-shoot) and P (procedural).
- Enter the stage time in seconds in the TIME (s) field.
The header updates as you type: hit factor (points ÷ time), points %, total shots, and the total against the points possible.

Points possible is five per round fired. Misses and no-shoots count as rounds; procedurals are penalties, not rounds. Reset all clears the stage.
2. Save it to a session
A session is a match or a practice day. Tap Save stage, then:
- New session — give it a name, choose Practice or Competition, and set the division once. Every stage you file under that session inherits it.
- Existing session — pick one from the list. Stages are numbered automatically; the optional stage name replaces the number.
If you loaded a saved stage into the calculator and changed it, the sheet offers Update (replace that stage's score) or Save as new stage. After saving you can go straight to Share card.
3. Read the forecast
Forecast works on whatever is in the calculator right now. Two tables:
- Potential HF with the same time — what your hit factor would be with better hits and the time you already shot. Each row is a different hit distribution.
- Time needed to improve your HF — for the same hits, how much faster you would need to run for each target hit factor, and the difference from your current time.
Your current time, points and hit factor sit at the top for comparison. On the free plan the time ladder shows its first five targets; Pro shows every target.
4. History and stage detail
History lists your sessions and the stages inside them. Sort sessions by name or date; sort stages by number, date, hit factor or points %. The summary at the top shows your best HF, 90-day points %, stage count and a hit-factor trend line over your last stages (Pro).
Tap a stage to open Stage detail: the full score line, penalties, and two quick forecasts — better hits, same time and faster time, same hits. From there you can Load into calculator, share the card, rename the stage or delete it.
Tap Select to pick several stages and delete them at once. Rename a session or edit its division from the session row. Deleting a session deletes its stages; deletions cannot be undone.
5. Share a card
A share card is an image of one stage's result, built for messaging apps and social media. Open it from the save sheet, from a stage row or from stage detail.
- Photo card — Pick photo to put your stats over a picture from your library. StageAim asks for photo access the first time; the photo is used only on your phone.
- Transparent sticker — the stats alone with a transparent background, for pasting over a video or story.
- Template — Center Stack, Corner Block or Bottom Bar.
- Stats — switch hit factor, time, points, the A/C/D line, stage name, session name and division on or off.
- Drag a block to move it; pinch it to resize (Pro). Reset layout puts everything back.
Share opens your phone's share sheet. Save PNG writes the card to your photo library.
6. Settings, backup and text size
- Default power factor — what a new stage in Calculator starts with.
- Language — English or Spanish.
- Text size — Default, Medium or Large, applied everywhere in the app on top of your phone's own text size.
- Backup — Export JSON backup creates one file with every session and stage and hands it to the share sheet, so you can put it in your cloud drive or send it to yourself. Import JSON backup reads that file back and adds its sessions and stages. Backup is a Pro feature.
- Privacy — everything stays on your device. The full policy is at stageaim.com/privacy.
There is no account and no cloud sync. If you move to a new phone, export a backup first and import it on the new one.
7. Free plan and StageAim Pro
The free plan covers 3 sessions with up to 10 stages each, the first five targets of the forecast ladder, the Center Stack card layout, and five free sticker cards and five free card saves to try them out. The Free plan panel in Settings shows how much of it you have used.
StageAim Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription. It unlocks unlimited sessions and stages, the full forecast, history trends, every card layout with resizing and unlimited stickers, unlimited card saves, and backup export/import. The purchase is handled by the App Store or Google Play; if you reinstall or change phones, tap Restore purchase on the Pro screen.
